PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
Most cars these days don't need a "tune-up." Instead, the manufacturers recommend preventative maintenance at specific intervals. Sometimes (usually to advertise a low cost of ownership), a manufacturer won't include services on the schedule that would still be a good idea to do (such as a transmission fluid service). We recommend spark plugs, fluid services, and cleaning services according to manufacturer intervals and our own experience with vehicles like yours.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DIAGNOSTICS
As more computers or modules are included within the automobile, the system gets better with displaying errors as Diagnostic Trouble Codes (such as P0###). The problem is that most new parts are made with such precision and are specific to a few subset of models. This means they cost much more than parts from just a short time ago and diagnosing a problem by switching out suspected faulty parts can cost a small fortune. At Discovery Automotive, we can use both computer diagnostics and manual testing to pinpoint the problem without having to guess by replacing parts.
